Back to topHow does Wirewize decide which cables to recommend and what connections to use?
To provide accurate information, Wirewize uses a "Product Attribute Database" and a "Logic Engine". The Product Attribute Database stores all of the information about your components, using data provided by the manufacturers themselves. Wirewize's Logic Engine analyzes the attributes of each component in the system—types of inputs/outputs, product features, specifications and much more. It then determines and displays the cable types and connection steps necessary to obtain the optimum picture and sound performance for each system.
Back to topWhere do I find my product model number?
Different types of products show their model numbers in different places. Our Model Number Help page shows diagrams of different product types and best places to find the model number.<
Back to topWhat can I do if my component was not found?
Wirewize's database is updated continuously, but sometimes a given product model may not be found. In such cases, Wirewize provides generic alternatives to the model not found, where the user chooses the generic product that most closely resembles their model. If your model was not found, please use the feedback tool located at the top of this webpage to let us know that it's missing. We are continuously adding new products, and will make sure that yours is in the queue!
Back to topThe picture or connection panel does not look like my device. What should I do?
You can let us know of the error if you click on the "Report Problem" link and describe the problem in detail. We are constantly updating the system and will fix the error as soon as possible.
Back to topWhat can I do if I can't/don't want to hook up my system the way Wirewize is recommending?
Wirewize suggests the optimal connection set-up, but of course the user may opt to connect their system based on personal preference. In a future release of Wirewize, users will be able to change results based on personal preferences.
Back to topMy system doesn't sound good. What can I do?
Wirewize gives instructions to make sure that sound channels are connected to the corresponding jacks on the components being connected. As an example, a red-colored connector of a stereo audio cable from the "R" (right) jack on a DVD player must have the red-colored connector on the other end connected to the "R" (right) jack on the AV receiver. Check that your cables are connected as the Setup Wizard instructs.
Back to topThe picture on my TV doesn't look good. What can I do?
Wirewize gives instructions to make sure that video component cables are connected to the correct corresponding jacks on components being connected. Check that your cables are connected as the Connections recommends.
